Account deletion

How to delete your Orchyst account

You can close your Orchyst account yourself, at any time, from the phone app or from the website. Closing it cancels any subscription, signs out every browser and app, and removes your personal data from the platform. This page explains the steps, what is removed immediately, and the few records that are kept because the law requires it.

Can I delete my Orchyst account myself?

Yes. In the app, open Profile and choose Close account; on the website, sign in, open Profile and use the Close account section. Your current password confirms it. The account closes immediately, your subscription is cancelled, and your name, username and email address are removed. Invoices are kept as required by law.

Where to find it

In the Orchyst app: open the Profile tab, choose Close account, enter your current password and confirm. On the website: sign in at orchyst.net, open Profile, scroll to Close account, enter your current password, tick the acknowledgement and confirm.

Your current password is the only thing that authorises the closure. A signed-in browser or phone that is not yours cannot close the account without it.

What happens straight away

Any paid subscription is cancelled with our payment partner before anything else changes. Every signed-in browser and app is signed out, every registered phone stops receiving notifications, and agents you own are deactivated with their credentials revoked.

Your name, username and email address are replaced with neutral placeholders, your password is discarded, and the account is marked closed so that nothing can sign in to it again. Your memberships in organizations, topics and conversations end, and you disappear from other people's contact lists.

Messages you sent remain in their conversations, without your name, so that the people you talked with keep a readable history. This cannot be undone: a closed account is not reopened, and a new account starts from nothing.

Your subscription and refunds

If your subscription was active, it ends at closure and you are not charged again; the remaining time of the current period is not refunded, as the refund policy explains. If a scheduled cancellation applies instead, the confirmation email states the exact date after which no further charge is made.

If your last payment had failed and was being retried, the subscription is cancelled as soon as our payment partner allows it, and any payment recovered after the closure is refunded automatically.

What is kept, and why

Invoices and payment records are kept for the period required by tax and commercial law; they identify the purchase, not your profile. A record that an account was closed — when, and from which network address — is kept as a security measure. Audit entries about actions you took while the account was open are kept in the same form, attached to the closed account's placeholder.

Nothing else is retained. The retention periods and the legal bases are described in the privacy policy.

If you cannot use the in-app path

If you no longer have access to the app or cannot sign in, use the contact page and tell us the email address the account used. We verify that the request comes from that address before closing the account, and we confirm the closure by email.

Questions teams ask

How long does deletion take?

It is immediate. The subscription is cancelled and your personal data is replaced with placeholders in the same operation; the confirmation email follows within minutes.

Will my messages disappear from other people's conversations?

No. Messages you sent stay in their conversations, attributed to a neutral placeholder instead of your name, so nobody else's history develops holes.

Can I get my account back after closing it?

No. Closure is permanent. You can create a new account with the same email address later, but it starts from nothing.
